Microsoft brings AI to Office 365

With Chat Support In Word & Excel

Microsoft has introduced a new Co-Pilot for its Microsoft 365 apps that is AI-powered. With the help of Microsoft 365 products like Word, Office, Excel, and more, users may generate papers, emails, presentations, and much more with the Co-Pilot powered by GPT-4 from OpenAI. Microsoft pledged to incorporate AI into more of its products when it debuted the new Bing in February. Last week, Google updated its Workspace apps with AI tools, including generative writing capabilities for Email and Docs.

Word

Word’s Co-Pilot works with users, writing, editing, summarising, and creating as they go. With just a few instructions, Co-Pilot in Word will produce a first draught for you, including data as necessary from throughout your organisation. To make a document more concise, Co-Pilot can add material, condense text, and rework sections or the whole thing. To help them choose the best tone, users can even receive suggested tones, which range from formal to impassioned and informal so grateful.

Powerpoint

With the help of natural language commands, Co-Pilot in PowerPoint makes the production process possible by transforming concepts into a prepared presentation. Co-Pilot may convert written documents into presentation decks that include speaker notes and sources, or it can launch a brand-new presentation from a straightforward prompt or outline. Users just have to click a button to condense lengthy presentations and use natural language instructions to change layouts, format text, and precisely schedule animations.

Excel

In Excel, Co-Pilot enables users to quickly uncover insights, spot trends, or produce visually appealing data visualisations. Instead of merely formulas, users can use natural language to ask Co-Pilot inquiries about their data set. It will provide models based on the questions that allow you to examine your data without changing it. These models will help you find correlations, suggest what-if situations, and suggest new formulas. To influence various results, users can find patterns, build effective visualisations, or request recommendations.

Outlook

Co-Pilot in Outlook can organise and manage the inbox to free up more time for speaking to people. So that you can spend more time communicating rather than responding to emails, it works with you in your inbox and messages. Summarize lengthy, complex email exchanges involving several parties to comprehend not only what has been stated, but also the various perspectives of each party and the unresolved issues.

Teams

Co-Pilot in Teams attempts to increase the effectiveness of meetings by providing real-time summaries and action items that are relevant to the conversation at hand. It seeks to facilitate meetings by bringing everyone up to speed on the topic, organising important discussion topics, and summarising important actions so that everyone understands what to do next. Users can have a tool to assist with routine chores like making meeting agendas based on chat history, choosing the appropriate persons for follow-ups, and planning the next check-in by integrating Co-Pilot into their meetings and discussions.

Business Chat

Microsoft also unveiled Business Chat, which uses the Microsoft Graph’s real-time power to combine data from documents, presentations, emails, calendars, notes, and contacts to assist with writing emails, summarising chats, finding important dates, and even creating plans based on other project files. With Business Chat, you can accomplish things you’ve never been able to do before because it works with all of your data and apps. Using the Microsoft Graph’s strength to combine information from your documents, presentations, emails, calendar, notes, and contacts, Business Chat works alongside you. To keep the team on the same page and moving ahead as a unit, compile information from many sources.
