Features
With the debut of Apple Music Sing and this new karaoke feature, the user will be able to manage the voice track’s volume in addition to being able to follow along with a song’s lyrics in real-time. As they become more proficient, they can turn down the vocalist’s level until they are entirely overpowering them and making the performance their own.
If the user is just beginning to learn the words and music of a piece, they can have the vocals at full volume. The band will continue to play behind at full power even when the vocals are dramatically muted. There will be options available for background singers. Also, not only songs with single vocalists, but the user can play a variety of duets with a partner or can perform a virtual duet with their favourite singer by simply turning down the level of one vocalist.
Limitations
While there is a wait for more information from Apple, it appears that this entertaining function will have a few unfortunate limits at first. Firstly, the original vocal audio won’t be entirely muted. Although it can’t be known how quiet a singer can be, it is hoped that it will be as quiet as it doesn’t matter. Secondly, since Apple Music Lyrics is being expanded, it is anticipated that the songs which don’t currently support the feature won’t support Apple Music Sing either. Also, if the user is using Apple Music on a non-Apple device, like Google Pixel phones or Samsung phones, then this option won’t be available for them.
Release
This enjoyable and creative new feature is now available through the Apple Music app, which can be found on the App Store. If you are already using the subscription service, you should get the update soon enough.
