Apps Also Coming on Xbox

Apple has decided to expand its reach on the Windows platform by introducing new dedicated apps for its various Apple services for the Windows and Xbox platforms. While the iTunes app was already available for Windows, this new change will see more fleshed out versions of the TV and Music apps rolling out on the platform.

The new Apple Music app will look and function exactly as it does on the Apple TV hardware, with no extra features added for Windows users. It has already replaced the iTunes app on macOS and will eventually replace the existing one on the Windows platforms too. A similar app is already available for the Xbox app store, where users can download and create playlists and listen to the radio stations while gaming.

The Apple TV app will be a new addition for both the Xbox and Windows 11 platforms and feature all the new movies and TV shows produced by the company for its streaming service. All of this will be part of the same Apple One subscription service that is already available to users, so they can simply log in to their existing accounts and pick up from where they left off.

Both of these new apps will be officially released next year and will be available through the Microsoft app store, rather than users having to go through Apple's own interface. These will be dedicated apps and should not be confused with the web interfaces of Apple Music and TV+ that can already be accessed by Windows users through a regular browser.

Lastly, they also introduced the integration of the iCloud Photo Library for the Windows platform, which is available right away. Users will be able to sync their iPhone's iCloud Photo Library through the existing iTunes app or even the Microsoft Photos app for easy access. You can even sync your bookmarks through this service, in addition to both photos and videos taken with the iPhone. This is a showcase of how Apple is finally breaking down its iron wall and accepting the legitimacy of other platforms.
