This new version of Google Play Games will function as a stand-alone app developed and maintained by Google and will allow users to play their favourite Android games on PC, using a proper mouse and keyboard combo. Since the app support will be native, there will be no need for any emulators that often reduce the performance of the game. In fact, as long as your connection holds up, we don't think there is anything stopping you from playing with your friends who use the desktop versions of the games, either.
The brand is promising upwards of 85 optimized titles at the time of launch, which have been configured to work with the larger, higher-resolution displays, as well as the different aspect ratios and sound systems. You will need at least a four-core CPU and a GPU comparable to Intel UHD Graphics 630 to run these apps. The brand is also recommending at least 8GB of RAM and up to 10GB of SSD storage to run the same. Any progress you make on this platform will automatically be synced with your Android gaming profile for easy access.
For now, this service is still in Beta testing and limited to users from the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Indonesia, Hong Kong, South Korea, Australia, Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines. The company hopes to expand to the rest of the world in the next few months, with an official launch for the same slated for late 2023. If successful, this will usher in a new era of mobile gaming, where users can easily switch between their devices and games, based on personal preference and convenience.
