Fire TV Cube
The Fire TV Cube comes in a familiar box shape design that delivers omnidirectional sound thanks to the four-sided speaker layout. The speaker grills are made from metal but are designed to look like fabric from a distance. The Cube comes with four physical buttons that are located on the top lid, which also hosts microphones for Alexa voice controls. There is also a light strip that runs on all four sides, between the top lid and the speakers themselves, and glows in Amazon's signature blue colour.
On the inside, the Cube features a new 2.0Ghz processor, which delivers a 20% improvement in performance over the last generation. It enables all sorts of Fire Stick streaming features, including support for 4K content, Dolby Vision, and HDR. There is even support for a new Super Resolution Upscaling technology, which lets you upgrade regular HD content into 4K output with the help of software tweaks and AI manipulation.
You can stream all your favourite content to a variety of displays and audio equipment, thanks to all sorts of connectivity options, including but not limited to HDMI, USB, LAN, WI-FI 6 and Bluetooth. The company has also added support for Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids, so disabled users can directly connect their Bluetooth hearing aids to the system and enjoy the same benefits as everyone else. All of this is on top of the extensive list of Alexa voice commands that you can use to control all aspects of the device.
Alexa Voice Remote Pro
For users who want a more traditional form of control over their TV, the Fire TV Cube comes with the latest Alexa Voice Remote Pro. This works exactly like the existing Firestick remotes, with a few new features added into the mix. One of them is a special Find My Remote feature that lets you look for a misplaced remote just by giving a voice command to the box itself.
Another new addition is the presence of a motion-activated backlight, which lights up the buttons the moment you pick the remote up in a dark room. So that you don't have to worry about clicking the wrong button by mistake. Speaking of buttons, the Remote Pro also features two new customization buttons, which you can set to execute all sorts of app shortcuts and Alexa voice commands with just the click of a button.
