The reasonably priced CS1 includes dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and AirPlay for streaming. The ability to directly stream content and manage playback using the Tidal and Spotify applications via Tidal Connect and Spotify Connect is an extremely cool feature. The CS1 is a Roon endpoint, and MQA capability is built into enabling playback of high-resolution Master quality music from Tidal. The CS1 will take it from there, sending tunes in standard or high-res format to its 24-bit/192kHz-capable Texas Instruments PCM5141 DAC. Chromecast can also be used to cue up music from compatible apps.
Connectivity
The CS1 has analogue RCA outputs as well as optical and coaxial digital outputs for connections. Both old and new equipment can be connected to the analogue jacks, while a soundbar system or the newest powered speakers can be connected to the digital outputs.
Benefits
There are inexpensive ways to listen to high-resolution audio, but many of those methods require headphones. And while there’s nothing wrong with pursuing that audio pleasure with the top-quality headphones. But some individuals like to enjoy listening to music with a set of nice and traditional stereo speakers and an amplifier. Adding streaming and high-resolution audio functionality to an existing system will seem more feasible with the less expensive CS1. With the CS1, users will only need to launch Tidal on their phone, push play, and go in high definition.
