Scribe Display

This latest Kindly device comes with a larger 10.2-inch Paperwhite touchscreen display, which comes with a glare-free coating and a pixel density of 300PPI. It is the perfect display for reading all types of content without straining your eyes or consuming too much battery.

The display is located in a bit of an off-centre position, with the bezel on the left side being a lot thicker than those on the other three sides, which comes with uniform width. This is to make it easier for users to hold the device while writing in various positions. As you can guess by the name, it is not a colour display but does come with a warm front light that can be adjusted to match your requirements.

Stylus Pen

To handle all the writing duties, the Kindle Scribe comes with support for a stylus pen. You can pick between a regular pen or a premium version. The premium model features a dedicated eraser on top and a customizable shortcut button that you can adjust according to your preferences. This enables support for lots of multitasking activities, such as acting as a highlighter and undo tool. The great thing about the pen is that it doesn't require charging and can attach to the side of the e-book reader through an in-built magnetic connector.

Writing Modes

The Kindly Scribe offers users lots of options when it comes to writing. You can go for basic formats like to-do lists and lined notebook-style papers for note-taking. Then there are easily attachable digital sticky notes, which can be used to annotate books and documents. There is even a journal format that you can use as a personal diary. All these notes are automatically saved to the cloud for free and can be accessed through the Kindle app. You can pick whether you want the information to be saved in your own handwriting or store it as basic text in the form of a word document.

Easy Sharing

To help you access these notes, your personal documents, and millions of other books available in the Kindle library, the Scribe supports a new "Send-to-Kindle" feature. You can use it through the Kindle app or Microsoft Word itself to share the information with the click of a button. Along with all your handwritten annotations that can be stored in a variety of adjustable font sizes and layouts.

Price and Availability

The new Kindle Scribe is currently available for pre-orders in the US and will be available in other regions in the coming months. You can get the base 16GB version for a starting price of just $339.
