Design & Build Quality
The Vivobook 16X OLED comes with a slim and lightweight body that features a unique weave-coating chassis. This material looks and feels like regular aluminium but comes with a special texture that is resistant to fingerprints. The top and bottom halves are connected via a low-profile hinge that can open up to 180 degrees while maintaining a thickness of fewer than 2 inches.
The top half features a bright and vibrant NanoEdge display, along with a 720p webcam that is hidden behind a mechanical privacy shutter. At the same time, the bottom half features a full-size keyboard and trackpad. One of the unique things to keep in mind about the trackpad is that it comes with support for a digital fingerprint reader and the world's first DialPad for Adobe creative applications.
It still has enough space left over to pack a dual-fan cooling design with two heat pipes and a massive 96Wh high-capacity battery. Along with a pair of stereo speakers that have been tuned by Harman Kardon. While still maintaining an overall weight of barely 1.8kgs.
Display & Connectivity
The main highlight of this model is still the amazing 4K OLED display, which features a 16:10 aspect ratio and a peak brightness of 550nits. It comes with support for Display HDR500 TrueBlack as well as a maximum coverage of 100% DCI-P3 and 133% sRGB colour gamuts. All of this while maintaining a superfast response time of less than 0.2ms. To ensure that you have the best and safest visual experience, the display is also PANTONE Validation for professional-grade colour accuracy, along with a TÜV Rheinland Certification for low blue-light emissions.
In terms of connectivity, you get a pretty comprehensive IO selection, with a 5GBPS USB Type-C port, two USB Type-A ports, a full-size HDMI, and a proprietary charging port. You can also connect other devices using WIFI 6 and regular Bluetooth connectivity. All of these features can be monitored and controlled through Windows 11 Pro operating system, which comes pre-installed with the system.
Performance
On the performance front, you can pick between multiple configurations that feature AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX Mobile processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics. You can also get 11th gen i7 processors in certain models, but that upgrade also comes with a price bump. These internals can be paired with up to 16GB of 3200MHz DDR4 RAM and up to 1TB of SSD storage.
Price & Availability
The company has put a starting price of €799 on the AMD models. While the Intel versions will come at a starting price of €999. The models can be bought straight from ASUS's website or your nearest authorized retailer.
