Design
The top of this unit can be finished in either the standard soft-touch black or a more futuristic looking carbon-fibre. Although the carbon-fibre version does a better job of hiding smudges and potential scratches, I much prefer the look and feel of the softer coating.
For a 14-inch laptop, the X1 Carbon is surprisingly portable and light at just under 2.5 pounds for the base configuration with the matte display. The weight increases slightly when you configure a touch display or a 5G module.
Specs
The ThinkPad X1 10th Generation is powered by Intel 12th-Gen vPro processors up to Core i7, and it supports up to 32GB of LPDDR5-5200 RAM. This guarantees fast CPU performance for continuous office work. PCIe Gen4 storage on this laptop may go as high as two terabytes. In addition, Iris Xe Graphics is included to improve visuals in videos.
The laptop has fast internet access thanks to Intel Wi-Fi 6E. Bluetooth 5.2 is standard as well. There are two USB-A 3.2 Gen1 ports and two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports. In addition to a jack for headphones and a microphone, it also supports nanoSIM cards for superfast 5G connectivity.
Display
The laptop boasts a 14-inch screen that can become as bright as 500 nits and has a 16:10 aspect ratio. Choose between a touch screen and a regular old LCD screen, depending on what you require. The maximum brightness on this IPS FHD+ touchscreen is 400 nits, and it has a matte surface. HDR 400 and 500 nits of brightness are included in the UHD+ Low-power Display.
Sustainable Construction
This company laptop is provided in a fully recyclable box. Bamboo and sugarcane fibre is used in its construction. This is unquestionably a fantastic step forward in preserving our planet. The wrapping paper contains information on the development and growth of the company from its inception.
Price and Availability
The cost of this special edition laptop is $2680. It's unclear if these laptops will be sold everywhere just yet. Pre-orders for these laptops are currently only being accepted in Singapore. It is anticipated that shipments will start in early 2023. A t-shirt and free Lenovo Pro registration are included with this purchase.
