Launch
Students, deans, and members of the gaming business from all around the UAE gathered in the Abu Dhabi Gaming HQ for the UAE contest launch, which is a part of a larger worldwide project. The launch brought together gaming phenomenon PUBG MOBILE with international gaming educators for youth, Endless Studios, and G42 Cloud, whose cloud computing infrastructure enables exceptional performance, in an effort to support the growth of the thriving gaming industry in the UAE and bridge the gap between educators, industry, and students in the gaming space.
Game Format
Students from universities and high schools in the UAE are eligible to participate in the PUBG MOBILE University Campus Design Contest. They are encouraged to create original fan art and design concepts for game skins, such as outfits in the game or a variety of in-game items, similar to how a special edition of a popular game would perform. Then they have to submit their work online by April 12th. A panel of judges will choose the finalists, and after that, PUBG MOBILE players will cast their votes for their favourite entries in a final round of in-game voting. In May, the UAE winners will be declared.
Impact On the Gaming Industry
With a strong local desire to generate native talent and games, the gaming industry is expanding quickly in the United Arab Emirates. There have already been some contests with PUBG MOBILE in the UAE in the past too. Through this University Design Contest, UAE university students can be united, and gaming industry professionals like PUBG MOBILE and Endless Studios will be able to give a forum for showcasing UAE students’ work to the gaming industry. The students in the UAE will now have the chance to hone their design skills, expose their work in the marketplace, forge a connection between academia and business, and support the development of the UAE’s future designers and developers.
