Design
When closed, the Oppo Find N2 is somewhat smaller than the previous Find N at 72.6mm. More significantly, the tablet now only weighs 233g, in large part because of an upgraded hinge design. Additionally, the thickness is 7.4 mm when opened and 14.6 mm when closed. Flexion’s second-generation hinge has seen significant advancements.
First of all, there are now 100 components instead of 138. Second, it makes use of cutting-edge components, including high-strength metal and carbon fibre. All of this contributes to the phone’s weight reduction. Additionally, the crease is reduced by 67% thanks to the revised hinge design, making it less noticeable. There are many applications for the hinge because it can support any angle between 45° and 125°.
The hinge enables some inventive shooting positions; for instance, you can shoot from waist level while looking down at the phone, just like with a Hasselblad camera that has a waist-level finder. Even better, you can utilise the phone’s hinged construction as a type of tripod by setting it on the ground.
Display
The cover display has an aspect ratio of 17.7:9. Oppo has also reduced the bezels, making the phone slimmer than its predecessor. The 120Hz refresh rate is now supported by the 5.54″ cover display as well. It also has Gorilla Glass Victus protection and a max brightness of 1,350 nits. The internal display is the same size, measuring 7.1″ and has a rectangular 9.6:9 aspect ratio. This panel’s refresh rate can range from 1Hz to 120Hz because it is an LTPO screen.
The touch sampling rate for both panels is 480Hz. To enhance screen legibility in bright ambient light circumstances, even at lower brightness settings, Oppo overlaid an anti-reflection film over the display. The display uses colour sensors to modify the images in response to lighting conditions and supports HDR10+.
Cameras
The Oppo Find N2 has a triple camera setup at the back. It is now upgraded to a Sony IMX890, which features a 50MP 1/1.56″ sensor and an f/1.8 24mm lens with OIS. With the 48MP IMX581 1/2″ sensor and an f/2.2 14mm lens, the ultrawide camera received an even greater improvement. Then there’s the telephoto camera, which made the switch to the 32MP IMX709 sensor. This sensor has an RGBW filter that allows it to collect more light. Even better, it is paired with a brighter f/2.0 aperture (the Find N had a 13MP f/2.4 telephoto camera). The focal length is on the short side; at 47mm, it is shorter than the previous model (52mm)
There are two identical selfie cameras – one on the cover display, one inside – both with 32MP sensors. The camera system was created in collaboration with Hasselblad and is powered by MariSilicon X. The Xpan mode takes its cues from the titular panorama camera, which used 35mm film but produced images with a wide aspect ratio that covered 65mm. The Xpan mode appropriately captures panoramic images with a wide 65:24 aspect ratio.
Specifications
The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is the chipset generation that the Find N2 utilises. It comes with 256GB or 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage and 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Android 13 and ColorOS 13 are preinstalled on the phone. The charging mechanism was enhanced by Oppo and is now rated at 67W, promising to reach 37% in 10 minutes and reach 100% in 42 minutes. Wireless charging has been abandoned, though. At 4520mAh, the battery capacity is practically unchanged.
Price & Availability
The Find N2 is available in three colours: matte white, mint green, and black. The white and mint green versions have glass backs and weigh 237g more than the black version, which also has vegan leather covering the back.
The Oppo Find N2 has two prices for the different variants – the 12GB/256GB is priced at $1145, and the 16GB/512GB is priced at $1290. It can now be pre-ordered on Oppo’s official website. There is currently no information available on the Oppo Find N2’s worldwide rollout.
