Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 Leaks

With A Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Chipset

Over the last few years, Samsung has nearly perfected the foldable phone, and the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is expected to be even better than the current models in its flagship foldable range. We do not expect to see the device until late in 2023, but we have some leaks about some of the features and design of the Galaxy Z Fold 5.

Design

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 will reportedly have a waterdrop-shaped hinge, allowing the device’s two sides to lay completely flat against each other. This would increase the foldable’s durability. It is also expected to have a 6.2-inch cover screen, similar to its predecessor. The smartphone will be waterproof. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 will only be tested for 300,000 folds, whereas some competitors are tested for 400,000 folds. It also implies that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be slightly thinner and lighter than the Z Fold 4.

Camera

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 will have a triple-lens rear camera with a 50MP main sensor. That is exactly what the Galaxy Z Fold 4 has, with the other two sensors being a 12MP ultra-wide and a 10MP telephoto, so there may not be many camera upgrades.

Specifications

The foldable Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. It would be the successor to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipsets, which power many of 2022’s best Android phones, including the Galaxy Z Fold 4. It is the same processor that powers Samsung’s Galaxy S23 series of smartphones. The Z Fold 5 will be available in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage variants.

Price & Availability

The price of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is expected to be somewhere around $1,799, which is near the price of the previous Galaxy Z Fold 4. There is no information about the release date, but we expect it to happen around mid or end of 2023.
