Optane P5810X SSDs
Intel's Optane Series is based on the 3D Xpoint memory technology, which is noticeably quicker than standard NAND storage. Intel's P5810X SSDs are the follow-up to the P5800X and come with support for up to 100 DWPD (Drive writes per day). This is a rare ability to have in such a rugged form factor, which significantly contributes to the overall appeal of the series.
The new P5810X SSDs have the same durability, plus they can operate in very hot environments for extended periods of time, a feature not available from most other manufacturers. Depending on your needs, you may choose between 400GB and 800GB.
Specs
The Optane P5810X can usually read up to 7200 MB/s and has a sequential writing bandwidth of 6200 MB/s. It has an operating temperature range of 0 to 70°C. However, it can tolerate higher temperatures without being damaged. New Optane P5810X SSDs contain a 2.5-inch U.2 Factor, a high-performance data storage device developed to work with the PCIe 4.0 x4 interface. Even in random read/write performance, the drives can deliver up to 1.5M/1.38M IOPS at a five µs latency.
Availability
Even after the official discontinuation, most retailers still have the Optane P5800X Series in hand. It is available for purchase from both digital and physical storefronts and can run an average cost of around $3781 per drive. Prices, however, may vary by location.
