What is New?
Lenovo‘s energy conservation initiatives go beyond just using recycled materials more frequently to include how its products are used. The newly released Lenovo Commercial Vantage application is yet another example of the company’s commitment to assisting companies in reducing their carbon impact. The user-friendly software seeks to assist and persuade users to enable particular options intended to aid in reducing power consumption or extending component lifespan. The necessary elements include information that enables users to choose their preferred configuration and labels with unambiguous identification.
Models Launched
The models launched in this series are – ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 11, ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 8, and ThinkPad X1 Nano Gen 3. The palm rest of the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 11 is made of 90% recycled magnesium, and the bottom shell is made of 55% recycled aluminium. 90% recycled magnesium hybrid is used in the palm rest and bottom cover of the ThinkPad X1 Nano Gen 3.
Additionally, the brown box packaging is composed of plastic-free packaging with 90% recycled and/or FSC-certified content, and the new ThinkPad X1 features Post Consumer Content (PCC) plastic in specific components2. The retail packaging is made entirely of bamboo and sugarcane fibre.
New & Updated Features
Security risks can arise when working on sensitive material in public. By turning on the privacy blur or displaying the privacy icon when an unwanted observer’s face is detected watching the laptop screen, Lenovo View’s integrated Privacy Guard4 and Privacy Alert capabilities offer additional security. Concerns around digital well-being have been brought to light by the shift to hybrid working since users now spend more time each day in front of screens. Alerts for good posture and eyesight serve as gentle reminders and can be helpful tools for preserving or enhancing digital well-being.
The use of video conferencing in hybrid work has increased dramatically, frequently bringing to light the difficulties that a dispersed workforce faces with remote involvement. Even in a virtual or hybrid setting, collaboration tools like auto-framing, backdrop hiding, and virtual presenters improve on-camera calls by putting the presenter front and centre and allowing all participants to contribute to the dialogue. The embedded webcam’s image quality can be improved using AI updates to the video enhancer algorithm in every lighting condition, even in smaller spaces.
