Intel has just announced the launch of the Core i9-13900KS CPU, touted to be the fastest desktop processor in the world. The processor specifications were already leaked, and we knew that it could run at 6GHz boost right out of the box without needing to be overclocked. With that 6GHz maximum turbo frequency, this new processor claims to top-tier power gaming and produce experiences for desktop fans.

The Core i9-13900KS showcases the new performance thresholds made available by Intel’s performance hybrid architecture, continuing the 13th Gen Intel Core desktop CPU family’s tradition of excellence. With the first desktop CPU in the PC market to provide 6GHz speeds at stock, extreme gamers and enthusiasts may now push their daily performance further than ever before.

Although the 13900KS won’t operate at 6GHz for very long at stock due to TVB’s limitations, it is still extremely astounding for a desktop processor to achieve this speed by default. With the proper cooling, enthusiasts can significantly overclock this chip, reaching far faster rates and perhaps breaking records. Considering that the 13900K itself has already been overclocked to heights of over 9GHz (with liquid nitrogen), this can be the fastest overclock ever seen with any desktop CPU processor.

Other notable features include the Intel Adaptive Boost Technology’s ability to opportunistically permit greater multicore turbo rates, which will enhance gaming performance for customers. Along with being compatible with Intel’s Z790 and Z690 motherboards, the new desktop CPU also includes the most recent BIOS, which is recommended for the best gaming and content production experiences. It also offers a 36MB Intel Smart Cache in addition to 24 cores for outstanding performance in gaming and content creation tasks.
